Nature guards the Southern Ocean well. Frozen winds howl around the continent,

else on Earth, unseen to early seafarers except for terrifying glimpses of
squid as big as their ships. Fifty years ago the world formed the Antarctic
Treaty to protect the polar continent. Now Britain is leading an
