Clawed toad and eagle owl blacklisted, as exotic animals invade Britain
Dozens of exotic animals, from the Egyptian goose to the African clawed toad,
could threaten the countryside and wildlife, the Government’s conservation
agency says. Eighty-four species pose a medium to high risk of becoming
invasive, according to a report from Natural England. Some are already in
the wild in isolated or local populations and others, including racoons and
the leopard cat, could gain a foothold in the future.
