Heath House, by the Vale of Health at Hampstead Heath, is an amateur
historian’s delight. Unoccupied for years, it has achieved a state of
delightful decrepitude: visitors must unlock squeaky cast-iron gates, step
past overgrown weeds and fight with a sticky lock to find their way in.
