When Venetia Dearden began her career as a photographer, she received a word
of caution. “I was told the hardest challenge is shooting in your back
yard,” she recalls. Dearden was brought up in rural Somerset, before moving
away to study anthropology, then travelling the world documenting social and
humanitarian issues.
