Why more children's books should feature disabled kids
Among my daughter’s collection of Playmobil figures there is one of special
importance to me. It is a man in a wheelchair (grey hair and beard hastily
removed and replaced with a younger look), and it offers me a presence in
the story unfolding in her imagination, if only in the crowd scenes.
