May I suggest rural Sweden for your next “get away from it all” break? I have
just spent five days touring it by coach — a wonderful way of putting
British “cold snaps” (and the mayhem they invariably cause) in perspective.
In Sweden the temperature quivered between minus 25 and a balmy minus 10.
Everything was white: trees, lakes, roads, houses. I took photos with my
phone, and they look as if I snapped a blank sheet of paper. Back in Britain
I spent a day defrosting my eyebrows.
